Daily View, 1/19/06

Quite the mash up... nothing like walking away from your RSS feeds for a day or two... quite the pile-up of cool stuff to check out and remember... sheesh.
  • Some guy in DC gets arty and wraps parking meters up like lollipops. Why not.

  • iPod + Yahoo maps=iWay. Cool, now I can stop loading my iPod with screenshots of Google Maps (which I totally do, since my dorkdom knows no bounds).

  • Brangelina? Not nearly weird enough for me. I much prefer the ongoing antics of Tomkat. It doesn't surprise me at all that Tom apparently gave Katie DVDs of all his movies. While Scientology is definitely full of psycho surprises, I don't think the L. Ron crew can really be blamed for Tom's astronomical ego.

  • Never thought I'd hear the phrase "pop culture embroideries", but apparently that's what Megan Whitmarsh does best. Yeti with a ghetto blaster? Keege...

  • Damn it, I missed the Golden Globes. The Globes and the Oscars are the only times I ever watch TV, and I totally flubbed this (though in all fairness, I believe I was on a plane over the Atlantic at the time). It should be noted that I used to watch the Tonys as well, but my inner gay man just wasn't healthy enough to maintain interest. Meanwhile, Defamer has a nice irreverent rundown of the Globes, complete with the obligatory cleavage jokes.

  • Now, I am usually adamantly opposed to crap with guns all over it, but I do think these Vlieger and Vandam gun bags are pretty funny. Some idiot will doubtless take one to the airport soon.

  • This human head knife block is both horrifying and strangely fascinating. Unfortunately, I think if you put this in your kitchen and were then investigated for anything, you'd be pretty screwed... which is what prevents me from considering it as a culinary accessory. Hey, don't we all have a little bit of serial killer inside? Maybe not. Dunno.

A horrible note to leave on. Apparently am feeling somewhat violent today. Blame the Brits!! (?)

Stripped

Back from London. Exploring further grad school options has sent me spinning into something of an art crisis. Meanwhile, I'm back at work attempting to concentrate and get organized, but it's proving a bit surreal. Today I'm updating some info on our stripper client's website (hey, strippers need websites too, apparently... we don't judge). Honestly, I never thought I'd ever be linking to sites like gstringsforever.com in a professional capacity. But such is the adventure that is web design...

Much to add, much to say... more soon.

Happy New Year

Have been in something of a holidaze lately, hence the absence. Ken and Ginna, who are really my only readers, I know you've been crushed by my silence. Hahaha...
Here's to 2006 and all it may bring. Who the hell knows... but such is the adventure.
Am off to London—back next week (hopefully with stories to tell).
